Welcome.
I’m so glad you stopped by. It’s my guess that you are here for one of two reasons. Either you are curious about the world of life coaching– great. Being curious is a sign of intelligence! Or, you are thinking about making a positive change in your life. This is also a sign of intelligence!
Either way – welcome!
Let’s face it, change stinks! But if you are looking to live a more purposeful and authentic life, some change is necessary. Some people avoid change because they don’t feel like they have the support or resources to move in a different direction. Most people are just stuck with fear. They are comfortable where they are, even though they know what they are currently doing is not working. It takes a lot of courage to leave a place of comfort.
That’s where I come in! I can work with you so you can lead a more courageous and fulfilling life. My goal as a coach is to work next to you as you navigate through life’s transitions, transforming your dreams to reality. I believe that each of us is naturally creative, resourceful, and whole, but people need the courage or trust their instincts to take the next steps. I can assist you in discovering your strengths and tap into your bravest self, to choose courage over comfort in order for you to move forward from where you are to where you want to be.
I’ll give you a hint. The answers are already inside you, because YOU are your best resource!

What is Coaching?
Coaching is a partnership with a client in a creative and thoughtful process that will inspire you to maximize your personal and professional potential. That is the textbook definition. The practical definition is that effective life coaching is quite similar in a lot of respects to an effective athletic coaching. I worked alongside many amazing and successful athletic coaches for over three decades. I discovered that the qualities that made them effective are the same qualities that would appeal to prospective life coaching clients. Great coaches recognize talent and potential in others, they know how to get the best out of people, they love to strategize and implement, they are great motivators, they affirm and encourage those they coach, they care about the whole person and all that they do, they are great at building relationships with people, and they give the credit and success to the people who are doing the hard work – in this case – YOU! Coaching is a relationship of trust and empowerment between a coach and a client, empowering the client to take the initiative in their own lives to grow and change. Knocking down the roadblock to achieving your goals and transitioning into the next and more fulfilled stage of your life. What Coaching Is Not Coaching is not counseling or therapy. According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the difference between coaching and counseling/therapy is that coaching is future focused, considers who you are, who you want to be and works with you to create the life you’ve always wanted to live. Alternatively, counseling/therapy tends to address issues of the past such as family of origin issues, conflict, abuse, addiction, etc. — issues that cause pain and hamper emotional functioning. In my first certified coaching class, my instructor used this analogy to illustrate the difference between a coach, therapist, counselor, mentor and consultant. You are learning to drive a car. How exactly do they compare to each other?
Coaching is self-discovery, not recovery; moving forward and “doing”, not analyzing emotions and an “undoing” of the past. I’m less interested in “fixing” what is wrong and more interested in maximizing what is right! |
