I have worked with individuals and teams of people my entire career. My professional life began in 1980 at The Ohio State University. I spent the majority of that time working with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and faculty. I have built relationships with literally thousands of people, coaching them with many life issues. In fact, many would come to me asking for “the life talk” (my specialty), because they heard about me from their friends, colleagues, or teammates. I guess I was a Life Coach before the job title ever existed. I loved being a part of the Ohio State “team”, but after 35 years, it was time for me to be brave and make my own transition. It was time to branch out on my own to continue my desire to help people find their purpose and achieve their goals. Navigating through transition is a challenging process with rewarding outcomes, and I wanted to continue this work.
My professional academic preparation has supported this important work. I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education, with a focus on life span development. I am a Board Certified Coach (BCC) through the Center for Credentialing & Education Inc., and am a member of the International Coaching Federation. I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator and a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. I am very excited to incorporate this work into my coaching practice! |
“Kate spoke to my leadership team about stress and resiliency. They loved it! It was their favorite hour of our eight hours together and they still talk about it over a year later. Kate has a way of engaging people and making points that people remember. My team is stronger and likely healthier after their time with Kate. She really keyed into resiliency in a way that has made a lasting difference. We need to have her back!” "Kate is incredible to work with and her warm and inviting personality makes her so easy to talk to, She took what I loved about Brene Brown's work and brought it to life for me. She helped me understand my perception of things and how to move through from my internal fear and judgement. I feel braver everyday as I challenge myself to do a little something that scares me . When I do, I see me strength grow. A big "thank you" to Kate and her work! "Before meeting with Kate I had no idea what I wanted study or do beyond my academic career. Through meeting with Kate, she helped me focus my passions, and helped me to actually use them in figuring out what I wanted to pursue. Beyond that Kate has a special way of making you dig within yourself and coming to your own ideas rather than talking at you or telling you what you may potentially enjoy. From increasing my academic performance to helping guide me in focusing my passions into a career path, I would not be where I am today without Kate!" |
